How we met

We both work in marketing—our two companies work closely together. I was invited to Jess’s work retreat to try and grow the business relationship. Steamboat Springs, CO played host to our first time spent together; we exchanged numbers, and I met her in San Diego for CRSSD for our second “date” and the rest is history.

The Proposal

If you ask Danny, he may tell you he planned a surprise proposal at a garden in East Hampton with all our family and friends. While that’s mostly true…if you asked me…my suspicions grew the moment we sat down for dinner with my family at a little Italian restaurant in the city. The week leading up the proposal, we all went out to dinner when seconds after our drinks arrived, my dad, a man who would much rather drink soda than alcohol, tossed back not one, but three glasses of red wine.

She took a trip to NYC

It had been four amazing months of long-distance dating when I asked Jess to come try living in New York on for size. She loved Brooklyn so much that she extended her stay! We blinked and were signing our first lease together less than a year later. I did make a promise to her that if she moved to New York we could potentially add another member to the house - ENTER JADE!
